Preview status
The downloadable GoodMac preview is checksum-verified but is not yet Developer ID signed or notarized by Apple. macOS therefore requires the documented Control-click and Open step. The preview remains a prerelease product until the release page identifies it as verified.
You approve cleanup
GoodMac provides recommendations, but you remain responsible for reviewing every selected file and maintaining appropriate backups. Cleanup actions move approved items to Trash so that macOS recovery remains available until you empty Trash.
No guaranteed storage amount
GoodMac does not promise a specific amount of recoverable storage. Values appear only after a compatible device provides measured scan results, and partial inventories are labeled when a safety limit is reached.
Protected data
Do not use GoodMac as a replacement for backups, Time Machine, or professional recovery services. macOS permissions, protected system locations, cloud-only files, and unavailable disks may limit what GoodMac can inspect.
