What GoodMac reads
After you install and approve the native companion, GoodMac reads file metadata from the folders and connected disks you authorize. That metadata can include file paths, sizes, types, dates, hashes used to identify exact duplicates, installed-app information, and disk capacity information.
What stays local
Scanning and cleanup run on the connected Apple device. GoodMac does not upload file contents to this website. Scan results are sent only across the encrypted localhost connection between your browser and the companion on the same Mac.
Cleanup and recovery
Nothing is removed during scanning. Only candidates from the most recent verified scan can be selected, and approved files move to the recoverable macOS Trash. GoodMac does not empty Trash for you.
Account and local history
GoodOS Base manages your account and sign-in session. Storage and cleanup history currently remain in this browser's local storage; clearing browser data removes that local history.
Your control
You can disconnect or uninstall the GoodMac Companion at any time. The uninstaller stops its background services and removes its localhost certificate and connection files from the Mac.
